Circular D1(d)/G.P.οικ.1474 – 9/1/2019 on the subject: “Monitoring the quality of water for human consumption within the internal water supply network of hospitals, clinics, health centres, nursing homes, tourist facilities, hotels, prisons and camps”

Highlights:

For water circulating within the internal water supply network of hospitals, clinics, health centres, retirement homes, the following monitoring parameters with their respective parametric values are additionally defined:

Parameter Parametric value
Pseudomonas aeruginosa 0 cfu/100 mL
Legionella 1000 cfu/1L
in point 4 of Part A of Annex I to point (a) of Part A of Annex I of the Annex to the Directive (a)
For water circulating within the internal water supply network of tourist establishments, hotels, prisons, camps, the following monitoring parameter with its corresponding parametric value is additionally specified:

Legionella 1000 cfu/1L
The minimum frequency of sampling and analysis of the above mentioned parameters will be once every six months (twice a year) and the responsibility for sampling and analysis will be that of the ‘responsible persons’ of the buildings’. (Annex II, Part B, point 4(3)). The ‘building managers’ are those legally responsible for the operation of the installation and/or building.
